How does Barcelona play without Messi?

He is 33 years old. Career is no longer in the middle. The old Messi is one of the best players in the world today, no doubt about it, but at the end of the day, he is also a man. He also needs rest. You need to weld yourself from outside the team in one or two matches. Otherwise, it is difficult to get back on the field quickly if you get injured at this age. The current Barsa coach himself was a great player, he understands all this very well. So in the Champions League match against Dinamo Kyiv, Messi was not included in the squad, he was rested. But without Messi, will Barcelona be able to cross the Kyiv barrier?

Barcelona has played 10 matches without Messi before, in which their success rate is 50 percent. That means exactly half of 10 matches, Barca won at 5 o’clock. Barsa faced Ibiza in the third round of the Copa del Rey earlier this year. Rowan Griezmann’s pair of goals put the club in danger even though they fell behind at first. Messi was not in the squad for that match. Messi was not against Inter Milan in the last match of the group stage of the 2019-20 Champions League, and coach Ernesto Valverde did not include the Argentine star in the squad as he was sure to advance to the second round. Barsa had no problem winning the match thanks to the skills of Carles Perez and Ansu Fair.

Earlier, Messi did not play in the league match against Hetaf due to injury. Barcelona won the match, Luis Suarez and left-back junior Firpo scored. Messi has not played in four matches before suffering a foot injury. Barcelona, ‚Äč‚ÄčAnsu Fati, and Jordi Alba’s goals in a four-match draw with Osasuna were not enough to win. Against Valencia, however, Barcelona won by showing a lot of power. Suarez’s pair of goals were scored by Gerard Pique, Fati, and Frankie de Young. The scoreline of the match against Betis was also the same. Griezmann had a pair of goals in that match, with Perez, Alba, and Arturo Vidal scoring one goal each. However, Athletic Bilbao lost to Barca 1-0.

In the last three matches of the 2018-19 season, Messi was not in the squad, the team lost in two, in a draw. In those three matches against Celta Vigo, Sevilla, and Wesca, the victory is far away, Barcelona could not score a goal.

So far this season, Messi has played 11 matches for Barcelona and 4 for Argentina. In the last one month, the stress has been a little more on him. Playing in this Barsa jersey, he flew to South America and played in Argentina jersey for full 90 minutes. On October 13, three days after playing 90 minutes for Argentina at the Bolivian ground at an altitude of three and a half thousand meters above sea level, he again played the full 90 minutes at the Hataf field in Barsa’s jersey. At that time, Messi was criticized for playing the whole match. This time, Koman is being more careful in using Messi. At least that is the message of not keeping the Argentine star in the team.

Barcelona has played three matches so far in the group stage of this year’s Champions League, winning all three. Has scored 9 goals and conceded 2 goals. Barca tops the group with 9 points, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus at number two with 6 points. Dynamo Kyiv at 3 and Ferentsvaros at 4 are 1 point ahead of Kyiv at 3. Barcelona will be guaranteed to go to the last 16 if they win tomorrow. When the opponent is in Kyiv, the Barsa coach can give Messi a rest in such a match!
